Video "Shinonome" |
Premiered on March 6, 2002, at Nakano Terpsichore,
Tokyo, Japan
Performance takes 70 min.

The
work title is the same as the group name. It is composed of a series
of
five scenes that occur when light comes out of darkness.
The first scene takes place between darkness
and light, when fairies and ghosts play around while human beings
are still asleep. The body squeaks as it is thrown from half-sleep
to reality. Threads of nerves are spread between two women looking
at each other in a mirror. Symbols such as kites and "geta"
(Japanese wooden sandals) are scattered around like toys, and the
play scene seems a parody. After the three scenes, time passes from
the sunset to the bluish dark sky. When everyone expects it to turn
to pitch darkness, a very subtle light-blue light gradually makes
waves. After a while, the whole space begins to emit navy-blue light,
and waves of light wrap it up softly while floating. After all it
turns to be a large bright light.
